Brian Sheppard is a Fly Fishers International Bronze Fly Tyer, as well as a pro tyer for Willowemoc Creek, and Squimpish Flies.
A lifelong avid outdoorsman, Brian is a native of Florida and Indiana. He learned to fly fish at age 13 while summering in bucolic Blairstown, NJ. Taught by family friend and respected angler/author, Bob Romano, he was instantly hooked. The next natural step was tying his own flies, and then it became a passion once Brian linked up with a tying group of fishing buddies when he moved to New York City. From there Brian created City Fly, a NY/NJ/CT licensed guide service, custom fly shop, and fly fishing education source. A large focus of City Fly is on the urbanite looking to learn in the city's natural resources, such as Central Park, and then getting out there to utilize learned skills in the wild. In addition to City Fly, Brian is also professional actor, with a Master of Fine Arts from Northern Illinois University. When not working, Brian enjoys surfing, camping, hiking, cooking, and enjoying all New York City has to offer.
